This is the only official freelance work I’ve done in my career so far. My best friend’s sister is a nail tech that wanted to start her own business, so she asked me to design her logo for her. She gave me a lot of creative freedom for it, the only requirement she gave me, was that it had to include her dog Otis.

My design process was this; include Otis, include some pink(she likes pink) and add silhouettes (she likes old Hollywood). The most challenging part of this logo was actually drawing Otis. Otis is a pug, so he’s very round and has got a lot of rolls. This was also before we had learned the pen tool in Illustrator, so he was made entirely with shapes.

Once I got it finished, I sent it over to her and she really liked it. She uses it on her business cards, and I got $200 for my troubles:).
