Gabi Bogdan is a Graphic Designer and Illustrator based in Moorhead, Minnesota,

I’ve been drawing and creating for over 20 years. According to my parents, I’ve been drawing ever since I could grip and move my arms. I was one of the kids in school that sometimes physically couldn’t stop drawing during class. I was told all through out my life that could/should be an artist, or something to that degree. I always loved drawing, but even as a kid, I felt that I wouldn’t be able to make an adequate living off of just drawing, at least not the life I would want. I knew I’d want some form of financial stability, so I largely figured I’d pursue a career that wasn’t creative, like being a nurse, psychologist, or a paralegal.

Once I was in my last semester of high school, I was planning on going to MState to get a paralegal degree. But then I realized that wasn’t what I wanted to do, I wasn’t gonna be cut out for it, and I wasn't going to be happy. So at the advice of my parents, I took a year of generals at MState to figure out what I wanted to do. After a year I realized that the Graphic Design Program had exactly what I was looking for. I creative space that both challenged me, and gave me a diverse field of jobs that I could go into.

I still enjoy drawing and making comics that same as when I was younger, but now it’s merged with my love of nearly anything graphic design. I love doing brand standards and brand building, even just small ones. I love doing anything with layouts and color, especially magazine/catalogs, and poster designs. My artist and comic background make concepts like color theory, typography, layout, and aesthetically pleasing designs to be extra fun.
